Today I come to show you one of the greatest DIY tutorials to date! I am sad that I didn't come up with this on my own, but I found this popcosmo blog that DID, and they even got it filtered onto Pinterest, which is where I come into play.
I pinned this early yesterday:
I usually have a tendency to pin things on a whim and never follow up to the actual DIY process, but these were different. I loved the layout, design, and even after checking the website, I loved the detail of the tutorial. So, I hunkered down tonight {when I should have been editing sessions} and made a practice one of my own.
Here is what I came up with...
UM.
I love.
(disregard that notice in the top right of that image; I simply screen-shot my computer screen)
Anyway,
I love for 2 reasons:
1.) it's unique
2.) it's unique which means no one else will have one just like it.
That's how I work, people.
Individuality!
This tutorial explained it ALL, through pictures, with worded detail, and it was so easy that it could be featured on a Geico commercial.
The only hold up I have is for Microsoft users. This tutorial was based on a macbook application that is pre-installed when you purchase a Mac. I'm sure you could probably do the same thing through "Paint" on Microsoft. Just read through the tutorial, or try googling something similar for Microsoft users. :)
The great thing about this is that it doesn't have to be used for just school-related binders. You can use it for a binder that you put recipes in, scrapbook binders, lesson plans, a budget binder, whatever! Seriously, the possibilities are endless.
What I also love is every binder you make can be unique to the subject it holds within the binder.
And once you figure out a pattern {which for me, being stricken with being unable to make decisions took awhile} it takes about 5 minutes!
Here's a quick start to some of those idea above...
for a recipe book, you could use a wallpaper like this:
Maybe use a red banner and white or mustard colored font?
For a budget binder, you could try this...
Maybe use a lavender banner with a burnt orange font color?
and finally, for those of you who have to make lesson plans
(or even want somewhere to stash all of those teach handouts)
you could try this...
With maybe a black banner and white font color?
Of course, Google allows for endless possibilties, and I personally LOVE the Lily Pulitzer patterns that are out. However, I didn't use any of my own for the binders I made.
Hope you enjoyed this! I know I was so excited to find a tutorial that was easy AND made me incredibly excited for classes to start back. I promise, that in and of itself, was a mighty feat!
So cute! - Beth
