After weeks of talking about it, David and decided it was finally time for our parents to meet. We didn't want them to have to watch us graduate and have them meet for the first time all in the same day, so we tried to think of something to do beforehand to make graduation day go by smoother.
Side note: I am a worrier. Even though I knew without a shadow of a doubt that our parents would mesh well, I still worried. David, on the other hand, doesn't worry about a thing for the most part. I think that balances the two of us out! :)
Back to the story...
I asked what David thought of having his mom & stepdad meet in a nearby town at Cracker Barrel for dinner, and he thought that would be great. Neither of us are crazy about that place, but we knew they liked it so we went for it!
The best I can remember, it was cool that evening, and David was with us. It was a Friday night and we made the hour drive to meet them for dinner and fun was had by all! We laughed and talked. Daddy & Scott bonded over books, and mom & Mrs. Angela conversed about recipes. They each compared notes on David and I and I don't know why I ever worried in the first place!
Looking back, I am so glad that we decided to do that because David and I were able to enjoy graduation day without my worrying and without having to introduce everyone to each other! Matt nor Gabrielle met any of each others family, but that day would come!
This photo is from the ride home that night :)
