Hello, all!
What a crazy end to the week I had! I unfortunately waited until the very last minute to do schoolwork for the very last week of my summer classes. This meant I had one multiple choice final, one analytical documented paper, and one discussion final due before I left for David's on Friday.
Sound stressful? It was!
First, I had to go see Lauren before we start school back. She's moving in her new apartment this week, and we wanted to have dinner and catch up, so I met her for Mexican on Tuesday. We ran an errand for mom and then made a trip to Walmart afterwards. This meant that we wound up with the same school supplies as each other. Everything down to our clipboards for observations.
And we don't even care :)
Anyway, by Thursday I decided it was time to GET THINGS DONE!
I finished the paper Thursday night around midnight, and I woke up early Friday to complete my tests. Just this morning I found that I made an A in both classes I took during the Summer Term. Hallelujah, anyone?
This is awesome and bittersweet. You see, as and English minor, I love to write. I often find that I don't write to my full potential in this space because I'm usually just documenting memories, but that IS a goal of mine. Anyway, that paper I turned in was the last one I will write for my minor. As of Friday, I won't have to take any more English or Literature related classes. This is truly saddening for me. Thankfully, my major will revolve around words and word structure, and I am thrilled to dive into that more this year. So, moving right along...
Arriving at David's Friday was just what I needed. We traveled even further south to their hunting land and I enjoyed our time together that we got to spend riding and catching up on our week. Talking on the phone simply doesn't cut the mustard sometimes - we just love to be together, to be able to SEE each other and have a conversation.
On Saturday, we woke up early and went to town to get a few things on David's new truck tweaked. We spent about two hours doing that, and we went to visit his Aunt Becky, get some eggs from MeMaw's chickens, and then we made our way back to David's and grilled steak.
It was a fun, relaxing evening. We actually ended it curled on the couch watching "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" .. remind me not to ever watch that again, especially after eating. At one time I looked at David and he looked at me & we both just had our mouths wide open in shock.
Gross!
Sunday, we went to church & I am truly enjoying it there. I have loved the preacher's message the last two Sunday's that we have gone. It's good to feel like I belong somewhere when I can't be in my home church. I'm thankful that we finally went, and David has enjoyed it too. He says he feels like we aren't in there long at all, and I do too!
After church, we opened the front door to find that it was raining, and I just had to capture David walking Grandmaw to the car. He is such a gentleman, and he went to the car in the pouring rain to get an umbrella, and then came back to get her & walk with her.
Melts my heart.
Fortunately, we got a photo before church of the two of us.
I love this guy!
{and I kind of love my pants, too}
I hope you all had a perfect weekend! This week will be a busy one. Doctor appointments {I think I have a summer cold, yuck!}, new eyeglasses {YAY}, and a shopping trip to T-Town with Mom {that we have had planned all summer. {Get ready, Target! I'm coming for you!} Saturday is our local chapter NWTF banquet {and David will be present, unlike last year while he was offshore :( }
OH! And Sunday we get to see the baby....
