David lives around 3 hours away from the beach, and Mikell (or as I will refer to him from now on, Bonner, because that's what we call him) lives about 2 hours away, so Hollie & I planned a little day trip to the beach after graduation because we felt like we deserved it!
I was super excited! I used to hate the beach, but as I grow older, my love for it grows wider!
We had to leave his house around 5:30 in order to be at Bonner's by 6:30, and we wanted to be at the beach around 10, so we loaded up & drove all the way through, stopped once for breakfast and once at the drug store for a few things!
For lunch, the boys left Hollie & I and went to the grocery store. They came back with sandwich meat, bread, and we had brought a few snacks to have for the day, so we ate lunch on the beach! We had so much fun! I love spontaneous trips like that. They always deliver. It was fun to have one last trip with friends before the boys hit the real world of work and Hollie and I started a new journey of school.
Around 4:30, we decided to pack up. I would have loved to stay and watch the sunset, but we were all sunburnt (see photos below) and tired. We didn't want to get home super late either. So we got everything ready to go, and headed to supper at Live Bait.
I'll be honest, I chose this place because we have eaten there before on vacation, but we were not impressed this time. The service was awful, the food was just okay, and we left wishing we had gone somewhere else. We didn't let it spoil the day, though!
During supper, we decided to go play put-put golf after we ate! BEST DECISION EVER!
We played the Captan's Round (I think!) which was the longest round you could play, and we had a BLAST. There was a huge group of people playing in front of us, but it was still fun. We went during the time of Hangout Fest, so although there was a ton of traffic, there weren't many places that were crowded. Thankfully!
One of the things I love the most about being in love is sharing things together that we as individuals loved before we loved each other. The beach is a newfound love for me, but getting to enjoy it with David made it THAT much better. I find that to be true in all aspects of my life now, and when he isn't around to enjoy something with me, I feel like something is missing.
Genuine, true love is such an incredible emotion.
