Summer Beach Trip!

Since Mimi finished her chemo, we got excited about going to the beach. It was almost a trip to celebrate her finishing so strong! She never got too sick during the time she was taking her treatments, but it did cause her body to change in many ways, but we expected that!
Anyway, every year, Mom, Mimi, and I go. This year, we three went, and so did David, Matt, Noah, and Nason. I was so excited that we were all getting to go together! I had been looking forward to our trip since we booked the room.

The time finally came and the weather forecast called for rain all week......and that's exactly what it did, y'all! It was awful!! There were times when the rain would break and we would go to the beach for awhile then, but the very last day we were there it was gorgeous! We got to stay out on the beach most of the day. On the other days we went to the mall, spent the day shopping, played dominos, cards, or watched movies at the condo. It was truly a relaxing week, and we all enjoyed being in each others presence and spending time together.

When we go on vacation, Mimi loves to try new places to eat (and I do too!), but we ended up eating at Doc's Seafood twice. We also ate at Shipp Harbor Grill, and they had some delicious sushi! We had pizza on the day we went shopping, and we grabbed Starbucks & Krispy Kreme a time or two. Vacation is not the place to go if you're trying to diet. :) One night Mimi decided to stay in with the boys while Mom, Matt, David and I all went out to eat. We had a great time getting to spend the evening out, and we were so glad that she wanted us to do that together.

We have done the traditional photos on our last night at the beach for the past few years, and we usually dread getting ready for them, but we are always so pleased with how they turn out. Matt had to go back to work, so he didn't stay the whole time or make the family pictures, but I will insert the photos from the entire trip here.

It was the first time David got to go on a trip with us, and he fit right in with our family! The boys love him so much, my mom & brother love him, and Mimi does too. I am so blessed to be with someone who fits right in with us!
