October 7, 2011
October 7, 2012, marked a YEAR that David and I have been dating! It is so surreal to me to think that we have known each other for that long! It seems like we have been dating for a week. :)
During this year, my family has stumbled upon some tough times, and without knowing that God has His hand on us and a plan sought out for our future we would not have made it through. I am confident of that. I also know that without David's crying shoulder, I wouldn't be able to face each day. He is truly my rock!
I fel like we both truly know what it takes to make our relationship work, and while the foundations of every relationship are similar - some things within each relationship are different. It has been fun to find out new things about him within this last year, but I feel like we learn something new about each other every day.
When I was younger, I always wished I could just see a glimpse of the person that God had set apart for me, just to know he was out there. I began praying for "my future husband" soon after my first heartbreak. So many things went wrong within my first true heartache, and I know why all of that happened now.
I couldn't have molded a better figure to stand by me in this life than David. I am so thankful for the person that he was, that he is, and that he will grow to be.
I'm thankful that we found each other when we did, and for the ways that we have grown in our relationship with each other throughout this last year.
David is laid back, soft spoken, and genuine. He is shy initially, but such a ham once you get to know him. He reminds me so much of my Daddy in that way. He is a hard worker. He loves his family and friends, and he will go the extra mile to make sure they are happy.
He never forgets to tell me how much I mean to him, and he is always there to catch me if I fall. He makes me feel safe and at home, no matter where we are together.
When "friends" have failed me, David has stood by my side. When I have been scared to take a step in a new direction, he has given me that extra push. He believes in me, and I in him.
He respects me, and he treats me like a lady. I truly believe he is one of the only gentlemen of our generation that will walk around the truck to open the door for me to get in or out.
Together we make a perfect team.
We trust each other with all aspects of our lives, and we love one another's families just as we love our own. I personally grow to love his more each time we spend time together.
I am so blessed to have been able to spend an entire year with this precious soul. I am fortunate to have him in my life and to be loved by him each and every day.
today, tomorrow, and for the years to come (Lord willing), I'll always be grateful for that.

For our anniversary, David & I spent the day at his house and went out for supper to Olive Garden. That is our FAVORITE place to eat!
He gave me a beautiful locket with my initials engraved on the front, and our date (10.7.11.) and "Love, David" on the back. He is so thoughtful!
"Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth." - 1 John 3:18
