Our Second Valentines :)

Hello, Sweet Friends!

I hope your Valentines Day was super fun, cheesy, red, and full of as much love as you could stand. If it wasn't, that's okay too!
Although ours wasn't full of "cheesy", I think we had enough sweets to take the place of that.

So, I went the nontraditional way this year and asked David to "be my valentine", and of course he gave the sweetest reply. :)

Here are a few things I had waiting on him when he got here Thursday:

I bought this felt bag from Walmart for a dollar, and I found the tissue there as well for the same price. I filled it with Jolly Rancher suckers (David LOVES Jolly Ranchers), a pack of heart shaped Reese's, and the things listed below:

"Carry My Kisses with You"

I laminated these after I used my favorite shades of lipstick to "kiss" (awkward) a small square of paper, and then I just personalized them with writing above and below the "kiss".

These are fun to keep in a wallet, as a bookmark, or even pinned in the visor of his truck.

I have been eyeing this book recently, and I thought it would be perfect for Valentine's Day! I downloaded it on my Kindle after I bought this one for him, so now we can do it together.
I think it will be a great thing for both of us!

"Remember I Love You Hearts"

I got him a cake like this last year, but I wanted it to be a little different, so I went with "I <3 U", totally not original, but anyway!

This is a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing, and that is also David's favorite!
We have arguably THE BEST bakery in the South, and they offer these every Valentines Day.

I made a "collage" on my chalkboard with our date, names, and fun V-Day quotes on it.
I love having that chalkboard!

I also got him a few other things, but that covers the little bag of FUN things! :)

On Wednesday, I had to spend the day at the clinic (or waiting on clinic to start), so I decided to get my nails done. Now, for those of you who know me, you know I could have done this myself, but I simply didn't have time once I got home that night, so I prepared (and splurged a little).

This was the color, and I forgot to rotate the picture,
but it's OPI Vodka & Caviar.
PERFECT red color. Seriously.

David listened to my "hint" (strong, strong word) and got this perfume for me.
I have been on a perfume kick, and I plan on reviewing a few here for Makeup Monday soon,
but this one smells DELICIOUS!

He also got me the cutest cow stuffed animal, and we won't go into how excited I was about that because we all know how I feel about cows.

My parents never have gone all out for Valentines Day.
When I was younger, they would send flowers to the school because that was "the thing" to do, and as I got older they would usually just get a DVD or something small for my brother and I.

A few weeks ago, I called mom while I was "junkin", and I told her about this heart shaped skillet that I had seen in my favorite antique store, and I asked if I should get it. She said NO!
After leaving, I wished I had gotten it anyway, but I didn't.

So, Wednesday night she had it wrapped up for me, and I WAS SO EXCITED!! I can't wait to season it and try it out! Eeek!

Lovely little Facebook declarations make my heart smile.

Mom had cupcakes baked and iced when I came home from class on Thursday! Plus, our teachers had spoiled us in class by handing out candy!

David LOVED the cupcakes! I think he had multiples one day. :)

We spent Thursday night at home with my family, so that we didn't have to fight a crowd. I didn't have class on Friday, so we spent the day at home!

Saturday night we went out to eat at a local restaurant, Harvey's, and it was delicious! Of course no date would have been complete without a trip to Walmart and to get ice cream, so we did that as well.
Needless to say, I didn't count my calories Saturday!

Here is last years (left) and this years (right) Valentine's picture.

It has been such a blessing to be able to get to know and spend time with David each day.
I am so blessed to have him, and I am thankful for the time we spend together.
